A series of jackets in response to the one word brief of ‘terror’ that openly subvert the baggage restrictions imposed by the department of transport.
For travelers; they allow you to carry on that extra bit of luggage that wouldn’t otherwise fit in your baggage allowance. For the department of transport; it is a wake up call that your restrictions in the name of security are ineffective and deeply flawed. For design tutors; it is a piece of critical design that highlights the tension between the need for security and retention of human rights.
For me though; it is a series of quirky jackets with odd pockets. They may be useful to you; they may not. Whatever these jackets do however, they are meant to look fun while doing it.
A special thanks to Pauline MacFarlane for turning these designs into real jackets.
