A busy day, starting with a walk around the island fortress of Suomenlinna and ending with us catching the last day of the Linnanmäki amusement park before it shut up shop for the winter.

Katajanokka at Night
For some reason, as part of this intro project someone thought it would be a good idea to observe Katajanokka throughout the day. I get the graveyard shift of course. It was a bit eerie actually, but got some nice photos.

Katajanokka Skies
Scouting around Katajanokka for the introduction project at TaiK, the skies looked rather dramatic. This may well be normal for Helsinki, but I haven’t been here long enough to tell.

Bodman Trip
The annual AKA Produktgestaltung summer trip (yes, they do go on quite a few trips!) to Bodensee, Lake Constance in English money. Not too many photos, as I was too busy relaxing, doing nothing and eating barbecued foods. Me and Dominik sweat blood and tears to craft ‘Bodmann’ from a bit of wood and a magnifying glass. A very nice trip indeed, though I did get sunburnt for the first time ever…

Theater der Welt
The Poles cook dinner and invite me round. Yummy! A bunch of architects from the AKA build a stand on the fake lake for the Theater der Welt opening tonight. Looks nice.

Pisa Trip
A trip to Pisa as part of a “typography” course. It’s more an excuse to eat well and drink far too much. One eventful night sees Kita breaking her leg, and the guys skinny-dipping in the fountain outside the station and having naked towel-flicking showers back in the hotel… I missed all of this of course, having left the group earlier in the night feeling less than 100% and KO’d in bed.

München excursion
A day excursion to München to some design agencies and the Pinakothek der Moderne. Not a fantastically interesting day and didn’t see much of the city at all. Ate a Schnitzel the size of yer face though…

Frühlingsfest
I go to the Frühlingsfest with the Mexicans. It’s pretty much the same thing as the Volksfest back in October: over-priced food stalls, amusements, beer and drunken youths.
